Designed to restore youthfulness to your figure, a thigh lift is a surgical solution to address structural changes in the thigh that often come with ageing, weight changes or pregnancy. An extensive consultation with our expert Plastic Surgeon will allow you to discuss your goals and discuss the type of lift you need, which will determine the number and placement of incisions. The procedure will lift and remove excess skin and fat to achieve your desired, sculpted results. Expected recovery time is 6 weeks. A one night stay in hospital is required.

PRE-TREATMENT

Pre Treatment Advice

Your weight must be stable and within 3.5kg of your target weight prior to surgery and following a healthy diet and exercise regime. Stop smoking 2 weeks prior to surgery and reduce your alcohol and caffeine intake. Wash the genital and thigh area with anti-septic the night before and day of the operation with specific attention to the belly button. Your practitioner will discuss any medication you are currently taking and advise you on any adjustments if necessary prior to surgery. You will be measured for your post-surgery compression garment.

Before Surgery

Before the procedure, the patient is typically given anaesthesia to ensure their comfort during the surgery. This may include local anaesthesia with sedation, where only the targeted area is numbed, or general anaesthesia, where the patient is asleep during the procedure.

The night before

You may need to take time off work and make arrangements for post-operative care. It’s important to plan ahead and make necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth recovery.

POST-TREATMENT

On the day

You will be provided with full post-operative care instructions. You will possibly have surgical drains fitted at the time of surgery to prevent infection, which will be safely removed at a later date. You will also be provided with a surgical compression garment that should be worn for up to 6 weeks. You may experience swelling, bruising and some discomfort after surgery. Abstain from driving for 2 weeks and refrain from exercise for 6 weeks post-op. We recommend use of a Galen IV drip treatment plan for 3 weeks to aid recovery and healing.
