Mini Tummy Tuck

Sculpt and tighten the abdominal with a mini abdominoplasty (‘tummy tuck’) to address concerns or insecurities around loose skin and excess fat in the area between the belly buton and pubic. This area of the body can loosen as a result of pregnancy, weight fluctuations, or other lifestyle influences, and a straightforward procedure conducted by an expert Plastic Surgeon can restore the abdomen to a youthful, natural appearance. The surgical procedure involves making an incision across the tummy, similar to a C-Section, through which excess skin and fat is removed. The resulting scar is inconspicuous and well hidden below the bikini line. 6 week recovery time. A one night stay in hospital is required.

Pre Treatment Advice

Your weight must be stable and within 3.5kg of your target weight prior to surgery and following a healthy diet and exercise regime. Stop smoking 2 weeks prior to surgery and reduce your alcohol and caffeine intake. Wash the abdominal area with anti-septic the night before and day of the operation with specific attention to the belly button. Your practitioner will discuss any medication you are currently taking and advise you on any adjustments if necessary prior to surgery. You will be measured for your post-surgery compression garment.

Before Surgery

Before the procedure, the patient is typically given anaesthesia to ensure their comfort during the surgery. This may include local anaesthesia, where only the targeted area is numbed, or general anaesthesia, where the patient is asleep during the procedure.

The night before

You may need to take time off work and make arrangements for post-operative care. It’s important to plan ahead and make necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth recovery.

On the day

You will be provided with full post-operative care instructions. You will possibly have surgical drains fitted at the time of surgery to prevent infection, which will be safely removed at a later date. You will also be provided with a surgical compression garment that should be worn for up to 6 weeks. You may experience swelling, bruising and some discomfort after surgery.

Recovery time

7-10 days

After care

Be sure to attend all scheduled follow-up appointments with your surgeon to monitor your progress and address any concerns or questions you may have.
