About

Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure that aims to improve the appearance and/or function of the eyelids. It can involve the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Once the patient is adequately anesthetized, the surgeon makes carefully planned incisions in the natural creases of the eyelids or other inconspicuous locations to minimize scarring. The type and length of incisions may vary depending on the extent of the eyelid surgery and the specific needs of the patient.

Tissue removal or repositioning: The surgeon then removes or repositions excess skin, muscle, and/or fat as needed to achieve the desired outcome. For eye surgery upper eyelid, excess skin and fat may be removed to correct droopy eyelids or improve the appearance of hooded eyelids. For lower eyelid surgery, excess skin, muscle, and/or fat may be removed or repositioned to address under-eye bags or puffiness.

Once the desired corrections have been made, the surgeon may use sutures, skin adhesives, or other methods to close the incisions. These closures are typically done with great care to ensure a natural-looking result and minimize scarring for the best upper blepharoplasty in London.
