Stem Cell Autologous Injections

Stem cells form the foundation for regenerative medicine, which refers to medical techniques that enable the body to regrow, repair or replace damaged cells or tissues. This treatment harnesses stem cells from a small sample of fat obtained from the patient's body under local anaesthetic. After an enzymatic digestion and centrifugation, the fat cells are removed in order to obtain SVF (Stromal Vascular Fraction) in a liquid form: the resulting mixture contains mesenchymal stem cells that have strong anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties. Injection of these mesenchymal stem cells back into targeted areas of the body can promote cartilage regeneration and possibly postpone or eliminate the need for knee replacement.
