Advanced Autologous Fat Rejuvenation is a cosmetic surgical procedure that involves harvesting fat from one area of the body and transferring it to another area with the addition of cells to enhance the graft's survival and improve the overall results.
The first step involves harvesting fat from a donor site in the patient's body, usually through liposuction. The donor site is typically an area with excess fat, such as the abdomen, thighs, or buttocks. Liposuction is performed using a cannula, which is a thin tube that is inserted through small incisions in the skin to remove the fat cells.
Once the fat is harvested, it is processed to separate the fat cells from other substances, such as blood, oil, and connective tissue. The processed fat is then purified to obtain a concentrated fat graft that is ready for transplantation.
Cells can be obtained from various sources, such as the patient's own adipose (fat) tissue or bone marrow. In some cases, cells may also be obtained from a donor or a commercial source. The cells are isolated and concentrated to obtain a high number of viable cells.
The concentrated fat graft obtained from step 2 is then combined with the harvested cells. The cells are mixed with the fat graft to create a cell-enriched fat graft.
The cell-enriched fat graft is then carefully injected into the recipient site where the patient desires augmentation or rejuvenation. The recipient site can be various areas of the body, such as the face, breasts, buttocks, or hands. The surgeon uses precise techniques to deposit the fat cells and cells in multiple layers to create a natural-looking result.
