About
A mini tummy tuck, also known as a mini abdominoplasty, is a surgical procedure that targets the lower abdomen to remove excess skin and fat, and tighten the abdominal muscles, if needed. It is a less extensive procedure compared to a full tummy tuck, and is typically recommended for patients who have relatively good skin elasticity and muscle tone in the upper abdomen, but have excess skin and fat limited to the lower abdominal area.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The surgeon lifts the skin and removes excess skin and fat from the lower abdominal area. The amount of tissue removed varies depending on the patient's anatomy and desired outcome. The remaining skin is then pulled downward to create a flatter and more toned appearance.
If necessary, the surgeon may also tighten the underlying abdominal muscles, particularly in the lower abdomen, to achieve a firmer and more sculpted appearance. This step is optional and may not be performed in all cases.
