Breast Reduction

Breast reduction surgery offers an effective solution for women who suffer from discomfort, physical or emotional distress due to large breasts from back and neck pain, to difficulty exercising or feeling unconfident and uncomfortable in their clothing.

Beginning with an extensive consultation with our expert Plastic Surgeons, you will be able to discuss your goals in order to identify the volume and shape for your breast reduction that will complement your body frame. The procedure involves the reduction in weight and volume of the breasts by removing excess skin, glandular tissue and fat to achieve a more proportional breast size, through small incisions around and under the nipple.

About

Breast reduction surgery, also known as reduction mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure that is performed to reduce the size of the breasts and reshape them to a more proportionate and desirable size.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The surgeon makes incisions on the breasts in predetermined locations based on the desired breast size reduction, breast shape, and the type of breast tissue to be removed. Common incision patterns include an anchor-shaped incision (Wise pattern), a vertical incision (lollipop), or a periareolar incision (around the areola).

The surgeon removes excess breast tissue, fat, and skin from the breasts to reduce their size and reshape them. The remaining breast tissue is then repositioned to create a more youthful and lifted appearance.

The nipple and areola complex as part of the lifted breast tissue will be secured in its new position on the breast in order to achieve a more natural and proportionate appearance.

Once the desired breast size, shape, and nipple position are achieved, the incisions are closed using sutures and special skin glue.
