About

Breast uplift surgery with implants, also known as augmentation mastopexy, is a surgical procedure that combines a breast lift (mastopexy) with the placement of breast implants to lift, reshape, and increase the size of the breasts if required.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The surgeon makes incisions on the breasts in predetermined locations based on the degree of breast sagging, desired outcome, and the type of breast implants to be used. Common incision patterns include around the areola (periareolar), around the areola and vertically down to the breast crease (lollipop), or around the areola, vertically down to the breast crease, and along the breast crease (anchor).

Breast implants will initially be placed in a subfascial plane (under the breast tissue) to replace the lost volume. The existing breast tissue will then be tightened , the excess overlying skin will be removed and the nipple and areola complex will be secured in its new position.

In cases where patients have sagging skin and very little breast tissue, the implants can either be placed under the muscle or autogolous fat graft can be added.
