Buccal Fat Removal

Roundness or fullness in the face can be caused by buccal fat pads, which are located in the central part of the cheek and can vary in size, affecting the overall shape of the face. If you wish correct roundness or fullness, a quick surgical procedure carried out by our experienced Plastic Surgeons can remove the buccal fat pads to achieve the desired shape. This is done via small incisions made inside the mouth to contour and thin the face, requiring local anaesthetic and sedation.

About

Buccal fat removal, also known as cheek reduction surgery, is a cosmetic procedure aimed at reducing the volume of the cheeks by removing a portion of the buccal fat pads located in the mid to lower part of the cheeks.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The surgeon will make a small incision, Inside the mouth along the lower gum line, to access the buccal fat pads. The incision is usually about 1-2 cm in length and is inconspicuous.

The surgeon will then gently tease apart the buccal fat pads from the surrounding tissues and carefully remove an appropriate amount of fat to achieve the desired reduction in cheek volume. The amount of fat removed will be determined based on the patient's facial anatomy, desired outcome, and the surgeon's judgment.
