Face fat dissolving injections are a non-surgical cosmetic treatment used for reducing submental fat, commonly referred to as a "double chin." The chemical involved is a naturally occurring bile acid that helps the body break down and absorb dietary fats. When used as an injectable treatment, it is carefully injected into the submental fat to disrupt the fat cells and reduce their volume.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The face fat dissolving is injected into the submental fat using a fine needle in a series of small injections. The injections are typically spaced apart in a specific pattern to ensure even distribution of the product. The product works by disrupting the cell membrane of the fat cells, causing them to break down. This process results in the destruction of the fat cells, which are then naturally eliminated by the body's lymphatic system.
Over time, as the body metabolises the destroyed fat cells, the submental fat gradually reduces, leading to a more contoured jawline and a reduced appearance of a double chin. Multiple treatment sessions may be required to achieve the desired results, typically spaced several weeks apart.
