This minimally invasive procedure results in very natural, soft enhancement to areas of the face that are lacking volume and require smoothing, shaping or sculpting. Fat injections can increase or replace lost volume in the face where contour or scarring irregularities are present. They can also enhance the visible effects of other surgical and non-surgical procedures.

Fat transfer injections, also known as autologous fat transfer or fat grafting, is a cosmetic procedure that involves transferring fat from one area of the body to another to augment or rejuvenate that area.
The first step involves harvesting fat from a donor site in the patient's body. The donor site is typically an area with excess fat, such as the abdomen, thighs, or buttocks. Liposuction is commonly used to harvest the fat, and it is performed under local aneasthetic using a tiny cannula, which is a thin tube that is inserted through small incisions in the skin to remove the fat cells.
Once the fat is harvested, it is processed to separate the fat cells from other substances, such as blood, oil, and connective tissue. The processed fat is then purified to obtain a concentrated fat graft that is ready for transfer.
The processed fat graft is then carefully injected into the recipient site where the patient desires an improvement. The surgeon uses precise techniques to deposit the fat in multiple layers to create a natural-looking result.
Once the fat is injected into the recipient site, the surgeon may sculpt and shape the transferred fat to achieve the desired outcome. This may involve manipulating the fat with gentle massage or molding techniques to contour the area and create a harmonious result with the surrounding tissues.
