Hyperhidrosis injections are made using a neurotoxic protein that are commonly used for cosmetic purposes to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Additionally, they can be utilised for various medical conditions, including muscle spasms, excessive sweating, and migraines. Excessive sweating can be due to a variety of reasons and the most common is the genetic predisposition. Other causes can be secondary to thyroid problems or diabetes, in which cases the underlying cause will need to be addressed before treatment.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Hyperhidrosis injections are made using a preparation of protein that when small doses are injected into the skin it blocks the signals from the nervous system that supply the sweat glands. This stops them working so hard and prevents them from producing excess sweat. Sometimes a test to identify the exact anatomic location of the glands will be required prior to the treatment.
