Phototherapy

Combining one of our restorative facial treatments with LED light therapy can produce an instantly visible, natural glow. LED light therapy provides a number of skin benefits depending on the light wavelength used, tailored to your concerns and needs. Targeted wavelengths trigger the natural healing process of the skin to boost naturally occurring cellular processes to perform at their best, whilst different wavelengths can be expertly applied to treat a broad range of skin concerns. During consultation, our experienced Aesthetician will select the right LED treatment as part of your facial package, designed to reduce any post-procedural redness, accelerate healing, stimulate collagen production for longer-term volume, reduce melasma or pigmentation, and to bring acne and blemishes under control.

About

LED (Light Emitting Diode) therapy, also known as phototherapy or LED light therapy, is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment that uses different colours of light to address various skin concerns.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

LED light therapy uses specific wavelengths of light that are absorbed by the skin cells. Different colours of LED light have different wavelengths, which penetrate the skin at different depths and can target specific skin concerns.

Once absorbed by the skin cells, the LED light energy stimulates the cells and triggers various biological responses. This can include promoting cellular metabolism, increasing circulation, stimulating collagen production, reducing inflammation, and promoting healing.

Different colours of LED light are associated with specific skincare benefits. For example:

Red LED light (wavelength around 630-700 nm) is commonly used for anti-aging treatments, as it can stimulate collagen production, improve skin elasticity, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Blue LED light (wavelength around 405-470 nm) is often used for acne-prone skin, as it has antibacterial properties that can help kill the bacteria responsible for acne breakouts. Green LED light (wavelength around 520-550 nm) is used for reducing hyperpigmentation and evening out skin tone. Yellow LED light (wavelength around 570-590 nm) is used for calming and soothing the skin, reducing redness, and improving overall skin complexion.

Non-thermal and non-ablative: LED light therapy is non-thermal, which means it does not generate heat and is not harmful to the skin. It is also non-ablative, meaning it does not damage or remove the outer layer of the skin.
