Rhinoplasty

Surgical re-shaping of the nose is a very common procedure to address concerns about its shape, and it can both increase or decrease the size of the nose depending on your needs and the overall appearance you would like to achieve through the treatment. Directed by our world renowned Harley Street rhinoplasty surgeons, the shape of the tip, the bridge and also the nostrils can be changed to achieve your desired profile, as can the angle between the nose and the upper lip. In some instances, breathing difficulties can be corrected at the same time as the aesthetic corrections are being done, this includes correction of the septum and/or the conchae.

About rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job, is a surgical procedure that aims to reshape or reconstruct the nose for cosmetic or functional purposes. Septoplasty is a surgical procedure that aims to correct a deviated septum, which is a condition where the nasal septum (the wall of cartilage and bone that separates the two nostrils) is misaligned, causing breathing difficulties or other functional issues.

HOW DOES rhinoplasty WORK?

The surgeon makes incisions, typically inside the nostrils (closed rhinoplasty) or across the columella (the strip of tissue between the nostrils) and inside the nostrils (open rhinoplasty). The specific incision technique may vary depending on the surgeon's preference and the complexity of the procedure.

The surgeon lifts the skin and soft tissues of the nose to access the underlying structures, including the bone and cartilage. The extent of tissue dissection depends on the desired changes and outcomes.

Our rhinoplasty specialists may reshape the bone and cartilage of the nose to achieve the desired aesthetic or functional result. This may involve removing or adding bone or cartilage, repositioning or reshaping the existing structures, or using grafts to augment or support the nose's structure.
