BACK TO TREATMENT LIST
How the skin heals after it has been damaged or cut is influenced by a number of different factors and therefore can be unpredictable. When left with an unsightly and conspicuous scar caused by injury or poor wound healing, scar revision offers an effective way to address visible concerns you may have such as textural issues or discolouration. Our expert Plastic Surgeons will assess the size and position of the scar to recommend the appropriate scar revision technique suited to your needs and desires, which range from minimally invasive treatments to surgical procedures that will improve the appearance of your scar.

This treatment is suitable for anyone experiencing hypertrophic or keloid scars, stretched scars and scars not following the natural creases and lines of the body.
Depending on the complexity of the scar, local anaesthesia and sedation options will be discussed.
After the scar tissue has been excised, the surgeon will meticulously close the wound using sutures and specialized tape. The goal is to create a new incision that is as fine and discreet as possible. The surgeon may use techniques to rearrange the direction of the scars to minimize tension on the incision, which leads to better healing and a more inconspicuous result.
